It has been a wild few weeks at Kunai. I’ve been in New York, Mexico City, and now Las Vegas over the past month. Has been exciting and productive, but oh man I can’t wait to get home.

Tonight: Fireside Dinner with Ameesh Paleja

The Kunai team is in Las Vegas this week for FinTech Meetup. This evening, I’ll be doing a fireside interview with Ameesh Paleja, EVP at Capital One. We’ll be talking about his work leading the Amazon Prime Video team, his foray into entrepreneurship, and his thoughts on the future of financial services. The event is already at capacity, so my apologies to those who we couldn’t include this time - we’ll get you into the next one!

AI Roundtable @Digital Garage

Last week, I co-hosted an event with Digital Garage to talk about the Future of AI & Money. Journalists from the New York Times and Semafor joined a group of entrepreneurs and venture capitalists to discuss predictions for the future of work and money in the era of LLMs. I loved the roundtable discussion format! Discussions were a lot more interactive than a normal speaking gig, and it didn’t hurt that the event was catered by the foremost expert in Bluefin Tuna sushi - Chef Ono from Hashiri SF. Yum.

Mike Newell embodies the style of leader we are most focused on empowering at Kunai. He spent over 20 years at JPM and Capital one building products before joining us as a Tech Director.

Offsite in Mexico City

We had an incredible week down in Mexico City for our leadership offsite. The main reason I still have the energy to keep building is the people I get to work side by side with every day.

We spent almost the entire week focused on our talent management model, continuing to develop our unique approach to supporting our growing team of more than 500 associates.
